The "UNTILLERED" bow, a GUAVA stick. full draw pics..& shooting video

I've being wanting to do something of the kind for a wile.

Just a Guava shoot, a couple of Guava arrow shafts tied on the back and some heavy wrapping at the handle ( most of the strass would be there on an untapered shoot/branch )

Hoping to get a hunting weight bow at least mid 50's

I'm gonna let the glue cure good for a couple more days before I put a sting on it,...really curious now :P

posting this pictures to see the difference once I get it to bend ( if it even works  :D )











seemed that a Zebra hide strike plate was only fitting on a bow like this

cant wait to see the finished tiller and hear how you rate it. this would be a great survival/quick bow minus the glue up. great idea on some experimenting.

Lookin good Manny, I guess you could always add more arrow shoots to bring up the weight and adjust tiller. Great project!!

Had thought of trying that sort of thing on the Blackthorn (Sloe) we have here, but never got to it.

Allright, I put a string on it, brace is 5 1/8", I'll let it sweat for an hour or so, than start working the draw in

well, I shot her in, as expected she's a bit sluggish but was shooting 550gr carbo arrows good enought for hunting, problem is that makes a lot of noise drawing, I'm soaking her in danish oil as a finish and hoping it will get rid of the friction noise,...ho yeah 48# @26"

I can't wait for a full draw. Manny, do you think it owuld be a viable hunting weapon (in terms of performance), noise excluded?
