Eastern hophornbeam flatbow

Here is a Eastern Hophornbeam,(Ostrya virginiana),flatbow I finished week before last.Took it out today for it's first shooting since the finish cured.It is very smooth,with good speed with a hunting weight arrow.I decrowned it partially,then backed with silk.Tempered belly,(holds about 1" of reflex),Cut in arrow shelf,dark walnut stain,finished with 10 coats of tru-oil.Sorry about the pictures,it seemed like a good idea,but they leave much to be desired.The full draw looks kinda funny ,but it was point for point on my tiller board.
65 7/8" tip to tip, 64 1/2" nock to nock
1 3/8" at fades out to  2/3 limb,then tapering to 3/8" nocks
48#@ 26"

Pete, she came out nice. Tiller looks good at full draw and the braced and unbraced pics look good as well.    ;)

Pete very nice bow, I am amazed at the amount of quality bows being built and posted here on PA every month. Looks like another incredible line up in the works.

Very nice! I've been slowly working on a HHB shorty, thats comming along pretty nicely. I'm with Dana, why'd you decrown it?

Great bow. Really cranked back in that full draw shot. Bookmarked for November Self Bow of the Month, too.

Thanks much fellas.I knew someone would ask why I de-crowned it.The lower limb was very flat and even,while the top limb had a very high crown,(nearly ugly),I wanted this bow to come out fairly even,and scraped it to match the lower limb,so I  backed it,just to cover for ring violations.I did this ,(the de-crowning),and the cut- in arrow shelf,because It's easier to sell this type of bow around here.Thanks again,and God Bless
