Hi All, here are the latest set of arrows I've made.  They are a Christmas present for Helene, for her to use on 3Ds and paper targets.  I guess they are neo-primitive, since they are modernish materials but made to suit the NFAS Primitive class over here in the UK.

The shafts are from Mark Hill (a.k.a MarkinEngland), and are chinese bamboo, spined and weight matched.  The self nock and foreshaft are reinforced with glued-in osage inserts.  The shafts are finished in Ronseal floor varnish for water resistance and long life (the UK seems to get closer to Seattle every year ;D).  The piles were made by my friend Bob Goss, weight matched and parallel fit at 9/32".  White and yellow barred plus white cock shield fletchings by Tru-Flight. The arrows come out at betwen 335 and 345 grains each across the six.

These are the first bamboo shafted arrows I've made.  Maybe not the best arrows I've made, but I'm hoping they will be hard wearing and accurate from Helene's BBO Holmgaard ( see http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,6978.0.html ).  Many thanks to Mark for the shaft supply!

Very nice arrows. I never tried any bamboo shafts. Bet they fly well. Those Piles should stick into anything. And I like the close grain tolerance. She should really enjoy shootin those.

P.S. That is one nice bow as well. I like it!!!

Looks like it's getting pretty close to vote time.  I'll have some time this weekend to review the entries and separate them into categories.  The cut-off will be the day before Christmas.....so get your entries in soon if you still want to post your set.

We won't be able to vote in the same way as The Bow of The Month.....so you'll have to send an email to an impartial vote counter.  Mullet (Eddie) has volunteered to count the votes (he doesn't have any arrows posted here).

There is also the issue of a prize.  Eddie says he will donate a bamboo arrow with a stone point.  We don't need to stop there....anyone is welcome to donate a prize to the winner...just let me know.
