Oak bow
« on: June 15, 2008, 06:50:08 am »
Hi, IŽd like to make a bow out of european oak. Should I take off the sapwood or just peel off the bark and use the sapwood as back of the bow? Is there any difference in strength between sapwood and heartwood?

Don't know anything about European oak but all the oaks I know you just peel the bark
and thats your back, no need to remove the sapwood. Welcome to PA bluebreeze
