posting pics
« on: November 28, 2024, 02:23:24 pm »
Can anyone tell me how to post pics here ? I have "Google photos". The site keeps telling me my file is to large, even with only a couple of pics. I use to post here often but it was with a now defunct pic storage site. I don't see a way to reduce the pic size.      Thanks

It's hard to post anything directly to the site.  I usually post them either on my blog (I keep a special blog post just for this purpose) or on another forum.  Then post a link here using the little Mona Lisa icon on the little tool bar.

I don't use google photos, but you should be able to get a link to the photo that you can paste into your post here. If you can let someone else view your photos online then you should be able to link any photo to this forum.

FWIW, the file size will always be too big when you try to upload to the forum. It is carrying legacy settings from a time when people used dial up modems and pictures were tiny. Those settings now mean that any photo uploaded has to be the size of a thumbnail if it is to be accepted, which means no one can see much in the picture even if you manage to upload it. Third party hosting sites are the way to go to work around this limit.
