Musky hunting
« on: June 06, 2024, 07:31:15 pm »
Been almost a year since I went last so I decided to go try my luck today. Dark of the moon has usually been good for me and today it was again 47 inches and released to fight another day.

That looks like happy hunting muskyman. Never caught one. Caught some lunker like, but never a musky.

Glis, don’t know if it would keep its color or not. I wouldn’t kill one just for the skins, although they’re not a bad eating fish. I’ll keep one if it won’t survive getting caught. In musky fishing circles when you eat one they call it going cannibal. If I ever do accidentally kill one I might keep its skin and see what it turns out like.

That’s awesome! A fish I’ve wanted to catch since I was a kid.

that's for sure
i'd take the skin AND eat the fish
I may also try to find a use for the bones of such a big fish

I bet the gill plates are large enough to make a functional arrow head or used for carving into a pendant.
