Finished a new bow today!
« on: May 19, 2008, 02:17:49 pm »
This is a 65" bamboo backed ipe that I built for a wheelie shooting buddy of mine.  It draws 40@28 and turned out quite well.  It was my first narrow width bow.  It is only 3/4" wide at the widest.  It is a sweet shooter, and has about 1" of string follow.

I'll try and talk one of my kids into taking a full draw photo tonight.

i really like it!  Bamboo backed bows are cool, eh?"  I made one recently which is only 1" wide at its widest point, and it pulls 70#...but it's not as pretty as yours...not even close!

He loves his new bow!  He kept repeating "I can't believe how much fun this is".  He normally doesn't shoot his compound until about 4 weeks from the season opener.

Great bow!   Ipe amazes me almost as much as osage.  Both are excellent bow woods.     Pat

You nailed the tiller on this one. Great candidate for Laminate BOM. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Nice work!
I used the Ipe/ Hick combination for an ELB, which I`ve made years ago for a friend. Ipe gives a nice colour to the fingers.
