hunting worthy points?

I just knapped a point and I am not sure if its sharp enough/good enough to hunt with. How would I be able to tell? and if its not how do I make a sharper point?

Clean breaks are the sharpest, and edge geometry makes a big difference. Run the edge against the back of your hand right under the thumb joint. Be honest with yourself and if you're afraid to press too hard cause it'll break skin it's probably sharp but don't settle for good enough.

Weigh it on a small digital scale.  Is it about 100 grains, thin, needle pointy and wicked enough to slice my skin open if I try?

The arrow I am going to put it on should be tested with an equivalently weighted field point.

Otherwise, I am against shooting a point out of vanity to kill.

Alright, I think I should try to knap a few more, Its certainly not as sharp as I can get my steel points.

Shoot something with a steel point. Then shoot it again with your knapped point. If you get the same penetration, its sharp enough.
Any critter tastes good with enough butter on it.
