A couple of years back I got some Osage from Hungary (East Europe) and most of it split like crazy on me, despite the debarking and woodglue sealing, storing it at a cool place.
A while back I had a second look at the ones i kind of saved for future bows and saw that there was just enough wood in this one for a nice small recurve.
Since I needed a new bow for myself (the shoulder isnt getting any better and lighter draw seems only way to go), I used this stave for it.
Guess i was lucky with that choice, for except a few minor cracks in the grip i don't worry about, it all came out nicely.
Added a ratsnake skin on the back for a nice contrast in black and osage, and kept that theme going with black horn nocks.
This bow surprised me a lot on the cast, its quick and quiet and only is 35lbs at 29 inches.
