Osage bow from the TN Classic
« on: May 09, 2008, 11:45:43 pm »
Howdy folks,

New guy here.   :)

Here's a picture of the bow I made while at the Tennessee Classic.  Thanks go out to Greg, Anthony, Pappy, and Ryan for making my dream come true.

The stave was from Gary Davis and comes from Ohio and was cut in 2002, upper and lower are twin sisters.  Its 66" ntn 1 3/4" wide at the fades, and straight tapers to 3/8" nocks.  It pulls around 54# @ 26 ½"  It’s backed with rattle snake skins from Tennessee, which a friend gave me years ago.  It has a leather grip from an old purse my wife provided free of charge, and buffalo horn tips are thanks to Pappy.

Take care,

John

Looks like you did a great job on it. Those timber rattlers really set it off, too.

Beautiful bow!...but I'm not surprised with the talent you had helping you with your new bow.  8) We are all fortunate to have such a resource within our reach.
