My fastest bow since I bought a chrony anyway!

 Fellas I just got home from work. I'm tired and sick to boot. I will record the numbers per inch of draw this weekend and post asap.
 Badger, I try to snap shoot but, judging from the speed I think its consistent high 180s. This bow took that set in the recurves. It was naturally deflected as it was the top side of a tree growing along the ground. I put a gentle swooping reflex from six inches out of the fades to the working recurves. Everything works and I'm sure I'm maxing out the stretching capabilities of the wood without overstrain. I cannot deny the possibility of a fluke reading on the 197 but the 187 and 188 numbers are common

Good example of the importance of controlling set! I have had several with that profile in the mid and low 180's so high 180's is not unreasonable.

Selfbowman, I dont have a caul. I dont use a tillering tree. My ancestors had no such thing. I try to reduce side profile first then adjust thickness before I ever bend the bow. I firmly believe that you can "feel" a bow resist the bend right before taking set. This just happened to work out phenomenally. I have a sinew bow that shoots 9.6 gpp arrows in the 180s but this particular bow is just a freak of nature.

Thanks everyone. I cant thank most all of you here enough. You may not realize it, but, I have been reading your comments and preferences for many years now. Badger you sir, have been nothing short of exceptional in your manner and wealth of knowledge you give so freely. Basically, you, sir. Have been my mentor more than you may know. I am but a lowly stickbender in a land of giants. I may never make another bow this fast again. But I would never had made this one without the fantastic artists like badger.  I have no clue what this stuff means. Lol. I just try to make bows with little to no set with a decent early weight and shave off as much fat as is possible. These numbers may or may not be ideal idk. If someone could chart this and post it I would greatly appreciate it!

How are you ensuring that you aren't overdrawing the bow?

My arrows are 29 inches long from nock groove to the start of the field point. They have outserts so I draw them back until the outsert touches my finger and I release. No real guarantee but the decent consistency in speed should suggest that I'm staying close to right. Right?
