If you look at the pic you can see the dark growth ring. It runs from tip to fades. This limb took a little more set than the other. Do you think this ring may have something to do with it or should I just keep blaming myself?

Low growth ring count overall? I haven't had problems with these color defects in the past, but I can't back it up with the what or why for the dark lines existence.
