Who's getting snow already?
« on: October 24, 2019, 02:53:58 pm »
Got our fist snow in the mountains of northern New Mexico.   Just a dusting this morning and a bit coming down during the day, but at least it's not sticking.

South Dakota

We have had several snow events already this year. Usually early snows are dry and powdery. These have been wet, heavy, and sloppy messes.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I got a late start on my sweet potatoes and they aren't in yet, so I'm hoping NC holds off its first frost for a while longer.

We will see some later next week. I welcome it. Me and heat above 60 degrees aren't friends.

Looks like a big one coming in Sunday- we are breaking hunting  camp tomorrow and heading home!
Had heavy duty whiteout Wednesday and enough snow to make muddy roads!  Getting the tin tipi out
Could be a challenge!

We've had a couple of sunny days so I'm thankful mother nature gave me a little early reminder that winter is coming.  Put a new roof on the wood shed, and working on the roof on my tool shed before more wintry weather comes on Monday.  Hopefully I won't have to break up ice columns in the sheds again this winter.

We got out ahead of camp ahead of the storm, but not the wind!  High temp here was 76F yesterday and I'd 20F now, with 4"-8" snow forecast!
