Here's a limb bow I have been shooting for a bit. Finished up a month or so ago and just needed to wrap the grip area. I call it Flaco, 64" HedgeApple limb cut around Christmas 2018 38lbs@28". The diameter of the limb is about 1.25" at it's biggest. Mostly less than that. Limb is mostly sapwood and has a soft pith core which I left in. Took a piece of desert bighorn horn for the arrow shelf little beaver tail for strike plate.

The limb was just a sucker from a knocked over gnarly tree. Was going to cut it up and use it for coat rack pegs but think I prefer it this way. Been shooting with 605grn 40-45 spine 32" cedar and to quote a friend "they shoot like freaking darts".

That's cool. I don't think I've seen an Osage branch/sapling bow before.

Think I have seen that one before, ;) it is lucky to be alive, glad it is shooting well for ya. I love limb/or small diameter Osage.

Taking a liking to these Hedge Apple limbs. Can dry fast and with a crown even with out much yella wood they can make heavy weight bows rather easily.

Cut three more of the limbs at about 75”. Some with lots of yellow core and some with not hardly any. Seems to matter very little.

The "pole" bows I made I use 2" diameter osage shoots, sawed them in half lengthwise and bound them back together with wood spacers. This allows good air flow and helps prevent twisting or uneven back set. I added a riser for the handle and these bows were between 50# and 55#@26" draw. I love these limb, pole bows, they are fun to make and shoot quite well.
