Needing some help.
« on: July 04, 2019, 03:41:56 am »
So I’ve got an American elm stave. Perfectly clean and flat back and belly. I want 70-75@28” of draw. How thick should the limbs be?

How long is it going to be? What's the design of it? How wide are the limbs?

Thick enough to give you the poundage you want, sounds like a smarty pants answer but you won't know until you start removing wood. This is why we floor tiller, every piece of wood is different. If you start with 3/4" thick limbs you will have plenty of wood to meet your poundage goals.

Yep!  That is a definite maybe!  :BB >:D!  As I said before - it is easier to take wood off than to put it back on! (lol)
