Pacific Yew Bow with Rattlesnake Skins 57#@28"

I had a nearly flawless yew stave to work with on this bow, just a pin knot or two on the whole thing. It is 63" long and pulls 57#@28". I had fun playing with a slightly different handle shape. It has deer rawhide under the snake skins for a little added security. It probably wasn't necessary but I wanted the extra insurance on this one. I got the rattlesnake skins from Cipriano Rivera, they are western diamondback rattlers. The tip overlays are buffalo horn and the handle wrap is elk leather with kangaroo lace. The finish is tru oil and the string is D97.

Weylin it was really meant as a compliment. I know what your saying though. Sometimes our style becomes our comfortable place. Mine are probably pretty predictable to. I know. I took it as a compliment. I just need to put a little pressure on myself to think outside the box every once in a while to push my limits. No fun getting complacent.

I love the boiling method for yew and osage. I stick the tip directly down into boiling water for about 15-20 minutes. bends like rubber. This bow had a little knot near the tip on one end and that limited what I could get from this bow.

Yep, this is the same bow. It just neded a handle wrap. I meant to do that at the classic in case someone wanted to watch but I got distracted. It was my pleasure to help put with people's bows. It's fun sharing in people's excitement about their first bow.

The top limb is one inch longer than the bottom.
