measuring draw length

Is drawlength measured from the belly side of the handle where it presses against the palm or from the back?

It's typically measured from the back of the bow to the inside of the arrow nock.

Say you had a 28" arrow with a broadhead on it. The arrow length is measured from the throat of the nock to behind the broadhead. If you pulled to a 28" draw you would cut your hand with the broadhead when you hit full draw if you measured to the belly. Always measure to the back of the bow.  ;)

   Always to the back of the bow with a few exceptions. If you want an amo measurement you measure to the deepest part of the grip and add 1 3/4" this is also the method used when some kind of official testing is done.
