First Yew ELB

I came up with a Yew Stave in trade for some Osage. Came out 71"NTN, 70lbs at 29", backed with rawhide for camo and to protect the back from dings while hunting, buffalo horn tip overlays




first arrows shot at half draw




Full Draw at 29"

Looks like you did a good job tillering a gnarly stave. Good looking bow.

I liked working with Yew, I took the stave to OJAM to make sure I didn't mess up a good stave :o
Got lots of advice, and help with the rawhide backing, I hadn't backed a bow before.

Hi Don, I used Minwax polyurethane simi-gloss. Thanks again for the help with the rawhide, I really like the way it looks against the sapwood.
