While I was thinking about how ebony might be used to make visually appealing bow limbs, one of my ideas was to get some ebony veneer and dress up some other more workable wood with it. Ebony with contrasting stripes of maple, osage, or any favorite of your choice would a nice looking piece.
But what if the supplier had too many great colors? What if you couldn't choose just one? What if a repeating pattern of accent stripes tickled your fancy? Wouldn't it be possible to build limbs entirely from veneers? That makes me wonder if plywood would work, even for one shot?
