I would, too, except the bark is so light colored. All the persimmon trees I see are black when they're old enough for the bark to form that way.

At first glance I was thinking persimmon. But if the leaves are opposite (versus alternating) it can't be.

Pretty sure that is not Ash.... We have ash around here, the leaves and bark are different than the pictures. Unless it is a different variety.

I read that some Persimmons take 10 years to fruit. There are also male and female Persimmons.
