Podcast Interview with Badger (Steve Gardner)
« on: May 02, 2018, 06:12:11 pm »
Greetings folks. For those who are interested in podcasts, I recorded and released an interview with Steve Gardner, who has several flight records to his credit, has built thousands of wood bows, and wrote the chapter on building by mass for the Traditional Bowyers Bible Vol. 4. As you might guess, we talk about various aspects of bow making. The name of my podcast is A Worldview Apart, and you can find it on most podcatchers and on the web using Google. Feel free to give it a listen. You can send me a PM if you need a link.

For the record, the podcast does not include any advertising and I, myself, do not sell anything, so hopefully I can mention it here.

I will post this in the Around the Campfire section too.

Cheers!

An excellent podcast, one hour long and it felt like a 10 minute recording. Thank you. You could do a series and talk to various renowned bowyers around.

Nice podcast! I wish there were more of this kind of podcasts. Sure youtube is full of bow videos, but not much in depth information about bow making, hysteresis, flight shooting and such. Would be super to hear some more thoughts from the other guru's that don't excactly hang around in youtube.

I think it's a proper interview that you did Eric with one of the most tireless promoters of natural materials.I feel the same way about FG when I shoot with my FG stump shooting buddies. That attitude and devotion is probably what it takes.

Thanks for the kind words! I would love to do that. I reached out to Marc St Louis, but he was not interested. Other ideas for folks I could reach out to?

Yes, FilipT, this was episode 73.

It's not so much that I was not interested but more that life has been tumultuous for my wife and I with both of our aging parents over the last couple years.

Just listened to the podcast.  Excellent  :OK
Interesting heat treating method you guys use.  And Eric, if you don't already know ipe has silica in it's dust which is why it can be so harmful.  I try and work with it outside and with a respirator.

Thanks for the clarification Marc, and sorry for misinterpreting. Best wishes to you and your family on that front!

Thanks Ben. I had heard about the silica, but these days focus on woods I can harvest close to home to save $$$ more than anything, and to make sure the staves I get are actually worth using.

Allen would be good but you would have to twist his ears to get him to talk.
