First yew
« on: March 13, 2018, 05:05:55 pm »
I received this stave from Pearl last spring and never have i worked yew before i was very tentative to start. Everytime i would talk to him he wpuld ask how that yew was coming along. I kept tellin him i wanted his help, so he invited me to go up to his house with Greg and Paul and we would have a building weekend. As you can imagine we had a great time and we all turned out real cool bows. This one is 64" ntn pullin 52#@27, it is fast as all get out and buttery smooth. Paul hooked me up with the buckskin handle wrap that he made, smells like smoked salmon. Water buff tip overlays which were done in PD style. Hope y'all like it as much as i do.

Gorgeous bow! You whipped into shape in just a few days. The pics don't do it justice. Yew bows are like that. The subtle beauty is hard to capture in a pic.

That looks nice! Only a couple days and you whipped up a dandy. But are my eyes playing a trick or is the belly green?
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short. Amen.

Hey Stix your handle wraps are way better than Pearl's. .... and anything Paul makes will smell like food. :) really like the brace profile, the upper limb in the full draw pic looks a little flat out of the fade to me.  Overall great looking yew bow!! way to go my friend.
