Nice work, Chad!  Is the "hawk" worked out of a file?  Did you roll the eye and forge weld to the blade?

Very nice work.  That Hawk is a brute.  Wife and I been watching a lot of the knife making on the History Channel.

I believe it's made for me 7 inch piece the farrier's rasp  I upset the middle forging it into a bowtie shape then bent it around a 1 inch pipe and Forge welded it together.  next time I'm going to make the forging little cleaner  and I'll add a third piece into the middle so I got more of a wedge-shaped,  I'm thinking about using a piece of mild steel with a high carbon steel insert for the bit.
