Thank you BJ and Ed, It means a lot coming from you guys. I tried to get as much weight as I could Ed, I don't know how long it'll last with the knots and all. I'll let you all know  if it blows😉!
She should hold together for ya if you've given her enough of a workout to full draw tillering.Nice overlay touch using the purple heart too.

That's a nice looking bow, Ed. Good to see one made from wood that gets bad mouthed all of the time.

Nice Bend, looks like nice shooter. The color of that cedar really stands out. Great bow!

Judging by that group in the target not only did you build a beautiful bow, but a great shooter as well! Did you make your Maple backing strip?

Where can one find Red Cedar - it has to be some of the prettiest core wood I've seen, and seems like it would be light in physical weight also? Would Hickory be a suitable backing?

Thank you Mike and Joe. Barebo that was a 3/16 backing that i took down to 1/8 and left parallel. Also it is glued  up with titebond 3. I cut that Juniper ERC about a mile from my house in southeast Tx. Here are a couple more pics I meant to put up.20180304_180500 by Robert Whitley, on Flickr20180304_180524 by Robert Whitley, on Flickr
