Sinew backed Osage short bow (FD)
« on: December 16, 2017, 03:52:36 pm »
Gotta put a few finishing touches on this shorty and call it done.  It’s elk leg tendon with whitetail rawhide over it.  Snappy little bow and fun to plink with.  I really enjoy carrying such a small bow!  51” overall and about 60#

That's a cute one, Steve  ;). It looks really cool and fun to shoot. What's the draw length?

It likes 24” right now Eddie.  I might get the handle working a little more tomorrow...

That short I wouldn't over do it too much, Steve. You can push it with both backings but the relaxed, profile will suffer.

I love short osage bows. That looks like a snappy little one!

There isn't anything wrong with a 24" draw  ;D   Nice looking shorty Parnell.  I'm glad to see you getting some good use out of your new bow shop.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Nice little bow, Steve. You like those hollow limbs don't you.  That rawhide backing would love a little craft paint on it.  :OK

That is a nice one. Never thought on a HLD/sinewed back combo.
I'm really curious about fd, castand performance.

Mighty fine work, Steve!

I agree with Clint that's a really nice draw length and sweet looking bow. That should make a very nice hunting bow.

Getting some natural pigment together.  Hardwood charcoal powder...Catlinite pipestone powder...might to an eggshell white and bind it with the egg white.  Just debating on design.
