Well, I wasn't here for some time. So you get 5 new bows at one time. Mighty much pictures to look at, but perhaps the one or the other is interested. Currently I'm working on pile of bendies (got a new liking for), another 5 curve in a td version (part IV) and a reflex /deflex with higher drawweight. Hope I get the time in the last days of this year.

Sorry for inconsequence of appearance here, but the shop is the favorite place  ....

now for the bow:

Nice clean stave, but had some drying cracks on the belly. I filled them with thin super glue – no problems.

All curves are steamed in. In this case a bit more pronounced than on the two bows before. Fades got tapering out ridges.

Black goat leather and linen for the handle, black buffalo horn for tip overlays.

52#/28”

Beautiful bow. I've been working on a few 5 curves myself recently. How do you like the way it shoots?

I think 5 curves might well be my favourite profile and that one is just stunning!

Reminds me of the old Duo-Flex bows of days past. Beautiful braced and full draw profiles with the deflexed handle.   :OK

Beautiful bow. I've been working on a few 5 curves myself recently. How do you like the way it shoots?

Jeff, I've made some 5 urves in the past. And some of them were or are very fast, for example http://primitive-bows.com/osage-vintage-hunter-6628-no-62/. This bow produces an avarage speed of 184fps with 10gpp, one of my favs. And, those 5curves are one eyecandy design, at least in my eyes.

Reminds me of the old Duo-Flex bows of days past. Beautiful braced and full draw profiles with the deflexed handle.   :OK

I know the old Duo-Flex, Pat. But really got infected in my bow building beginning when I saw the 5curves from Keenan Howard. Too bad he is no more here, I got so many inspiration from his work.

Thanks all!

Interesting series of 5 bows.  What I really like about you work is that you take the stave and let it tell you what kind of bow it needs to be.  Each piece of wood has its own voice--and yet it is clear to see in each that it is a Simson bow.  Great work and so much for me to learn from each.
