Deer stag handled cake cutter
« on: December 06, 2017, 12:43:26 pm »
So I got married in July.  I am a blacksmith at our local renaissance faire in Eminence, KY (also where the wedding was held) and so I made a cake cutter for the wedding.  It is 1075 steel and a deer stag handle.  Made in a coal forge.  First full knife I ever made.

Nidhoggr,
I've shot sporting Clays many times next to your renaissance faire in Eminence.  I'm from Louisville do you do any bow building?

Nice work on the cake cutter!  Best wishes to you and your new wife.  The skinning knife will be nice, too!

Yes and no. I am fooling around with bow building as we speak with the intent of hopefully being able to sell bows in the future. Same for arrows.

However there is a booth at the renfaire in the summer that has some gorgeous hand made bows. Not badly priced, either.

I'd recommend coming out to the faire this summer and seeing what you can find. It's a fun time. We actually hold an archery competition one weekend each year as well.

So I am a follower of Asatru (Norse religion revival to put it simply) and so we had an Asatru ceremony and the wedding was Lord of the Rings themed.

Thank you much!  A very good friend of ours played Gandalf in the wedding.  He passed a few weeks after so we were very happy he was around to see it.  If you remember the old Santa running to target commercials that was him lol.  Our ushers were Gandalf and the Lich King lol.

EDIT:  He was also Dumbledore in this lmao
