Fish'in at Camp

Was out at camp for two weeks... caught many "kept" 90 - 8-9" Bluegill and shellcrakers and a few crappie.... ate some too..... My wife Kim is my best fishing partner.................only pics we got was the croppie...

It's great..... she is a "fair" weather fisherman.  And doesn't mind me fishing any time I want too.. hunting too........but really enjoy when we can put it together with bringing some home for the table...

Shellcrackers are a fresh water fish like a bluegill on steroids.  some call them Redear. where Bluegill have the black spot....redear or shellcracker have a black and red spot. it looks like a big eye when they flair  their gills which makes them look like a lot bigger fish than they are when looking at them from the front.  They also have crushers in the back of there throut to eat snails and mussels. hence the name shellcrckers.....

I thought a shellcracker was Mullet knapping coral.  >:D

Yep  almost two weeks ...we were wondering if we would get tired of it ...but two weeks isn't long enough.  Kim said one evening she could live like this......Ok by me.
