Selfbow Competition
« on: May 24, 2017, 01:59:48 pm »
Folks I and others are inviting or challenging if need be . IBO is at Twin Oaks this July and there is a dab of money to be won. It's not about the money though. It's about seeing how good we are as archers. Comparing our skills against other archers. Meeting like minded folks shooting selfbows and sharing skills . The shooting and making of  the bows. We have done this for some years now but would like more interest shown. Believe me there is nothing like watching a glass bow archer with stableizers and such witness a selfbow archer stick an arrow as close to the center of a 10 hole as they just did. The look on their face is priceless. There is more info. on the primitive shoots and events page. Please try to put this on your calendar and support selfbows. Pappy and I  would love to see more of them at these world class events.  Arvin

I had a blast at the Classic Arvin, and if there's any way I can get there (working on the wife) I will make it. And your right there is nothing better than shooting a bow you carved yourself better than the "Professionals)!

Maybe I missed it in all the threads I've seen it mentioned in lately, but where in the heck is Twin Oaks? Maine? Idaho?

It sounds like a great time to me.I'd definitely be there if I was closer.Too bad I'm over 11 hours away.I'm going to an ITBS[Iowa Traditional Bowhunters  Society] shoot 3 hours north of me this weekend in Eldora,Iowa. No compounds allowed but lots of FG bows though. It's a good time too.Me and just a couple other guys are really the only self bow shooters ever there.Great range/3D courses/running deer/and vendors there.
Sure hope a self bow shooter wins big at yours.

The IBO Championships and MOJAM are the always scheduled for the same weekend.  Not sure how that will affect the shooting competition, but it may cut down on the number of shooters you get from Missouri.

I understand and hate the dates are the same, but so much going on now it is tough to find a date that you aren't on somebody.  Pappy

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?
