I just finished this one yesterday. I live in NE TX so I have tons of osage available to me. That being said, I do enjoy working whitewoods because of how easy they are. The wood was a hickory sapling that I cut a few months ago. I flipped one of the tips to match the other, and heat treated the belly. The tiller is the best I've had on a "D" bow in a while, and the cast is great even at 35 pounds because of the high reflex in the stave.
The bow is 71 inches long, 1 and 1/4 inches at the grip, and 3/8 of an inch at the tips. Draw weight is about 35#@28" witch is lower than I had planned but I'm not going to try to shorten it now since I have seven 6 foot staves of osage waiting to be worked.
