Lilah's bow full draw added
« on: March 03, 2017, 04:57:43 pm »
If you guys remember the bow Levi my grandson is building Lilah is his 4 year old sister and she is quite the pistol let me tell ya😉 well 2 weeks ago she asked her Mom if i would make her a bow and some arrows. So i went to town on a 48" pc of hard maple board, i took lots of pics for a build a long i will post later. Standard pyramid 1-1/2" at the fades and around 14#@20" and draws 24". I put elk antler tip overlays on it and as lilah is a bit of a wild child tried to match her up with a wild bow and backed it with zebra print fabric. I will try and get a full draw this weekend if she cooperates

The string is tan and teal d-97 with orange finger savers, i think a must on a kids bow for one so young. I made her 2 privet shaft arrows one spiral fletch and one standard, she really flings an arrow!! Both limbs have a little twist in opposite directions but this doesn't affect anything and is quite common in board bows

As a man with four daughters, that little girl looks like some of your best work!

And that sounds like the perfect bow for her.

That's what being grandpa is all about Bubby. After I made my bows for myself the next 4 I made where for my grandkids.

Those kids bows are tougher to make than people think. Very little room for error. She looks like a pistol.  ;D Sweet little bow and adorable little kid.
