Bubois, I'm liking the looks of the ERC and the lilac. Partially because I just got rid of a sinee backed ERC very comparable to that one that I really wanted to keep. It's such an elastic feeling combo that's vrry smooth.
Brendan, both of those look awesome! I've been in an ELB kick lately and would love to have either of those in my rack.
 As a sign of how bad I'm in the mood for those type of bows. 5 of the 6 staves I picked up at MoJam are long and narrow.
I'm actually excited to see how all thes bows are going to turn out.

Well, the lilac seems to want to go back to it's original shape from tillering. It had lots of deflex I steamed out but took 4" string follow after drawing to 24" and has nice tiller but tips are now 3 or 4" behind handle. Not gonna go with it cause of that and might pike it and sinew back someday but not sure. ERC is now plan A and coming along nicely.

That's a bummer about the lilac, but can't go wrong with an ERC bow. That's a good look wood.

It was my wife's birthday yesterday, so when we got a package in the mail we just assumed it was for her. The look of puzzlement on her face as she opened it told us otherwise haha. Thank you for whoever donated! I got a few less than dozen dowels for arrow shafts and a good quantity of quality feathers. They were just what I was needing.

Well got a update hickory backed heat treated black Locust likes to rip apart hickory...    it wasn't juat one place either all over the working section of the limb it was pulling apart . Well on to plan b lol

Thank you gentlemen. It did suck. On the bright side, I've got an Osage 5 curve in the works that's going quite well so far (fingers crossed). I'll post pics soon.

Question.

The ERC is looking real good except that it has some cracks along the grain on the belly from the sinew drying and pulling it apart. Not all that unusual and not a structural weakness, but still, not perfect either.
It was a limb that was split and the outside of limb was the belly/split side sinewed so kinda reverse.
I filled with SG and a little dust but they are obvious up close.

Would this stop you from sending a bow if it was you?

Those kind of cracks wouldn't bother me at all. And that's how I would fix them too and have fixed some. That's awdsme it's essentially backwards. Probably about guarantees there will be color in the bow.

i don't think so because I wouldn't mind receiving a bow like that. I like character "flaws." I have juniper that has a single massive crack down the middle from sinew drying and it drove me nuts at first, but now I'm really likening it, because it shoots so well and yet has a flaw.
