Bamboo, or any backing that is considered a "hard" backing will need a perfectly flat surface to glue to. If you are just looking to add couple pounds, maybe you could just shorten an inch or so off each tip, and re-tiller.

So I got a maple board bow bending last night. It's 52# @ 21" right now. I'll post a pic or two when things progress a little further.

Well it's now back to 28". Seems to be shooting nicely. Just need to shoot it a bunch more, then dress it up. Pondering a fabric backing, or a paint job. What do you all think?

Paint jobs are always neat to see. A bit more personal touch.

Definitely paint job haha like Eric said personal touch and all. Plus they look cool. I did some alignment corrections to the plum and yew last night. I'll get some pic up tonight if I can. Cheers- Brendan

Just steam-bent in the first hook into my victim's yew 5 curve. The banana is for size reference.

Is that a banana near your form or are you just happy it didn't crack? :)

I think the banana has the nicer bend with the decreasing radius thing going on but your's looks very smooth. And no cracks, always a good thing :D :D

Got the plum braced to 4" or so. It's  pulled back to about 45# at 20". I'm gonna work on getting the outer limbs to bend some more. What do y'all think? Cheers- Brendan

Looks like you should avoid the middle like the plague but it's a bendy handle (I assume) so I know nothink  ;)

I'd leave the handle alone and get that left side working more.  :)

I agree with upstate. Leave it alone from the toy on the sidewalk to the right tip and just get the left moving all the way from said toy. Looking like it's comin along nicely.

I know I been slackin in this trade. Too many irons in the fire but will be at it Sunday for sure.
