Hi friends. So this is new for me, but I thought it might be fun and very educational to attempt building a bow from a rather challenging branch of osage with ongoing input from all of you wood-bow-loving folks here on PA.
I found this piece on the ground the same hedgerow I've told ya'll about before. I'm currently in the process of chasing my target ring, which is pretty deep in the wood. This will leave me w/ a notably crowned stave, but this is osage!
As you can see from the pics, it's got a natural r/d profile that I hope to balance with dry heat on a caul once I've got the thing to symmetrical dimensions and floor tillered.
If it ends up a shooter it should have lots of character w/ some funky holes and such.
