Special set of warbow arrows
« on: January 30, 2017, 10:10:55 am »
These were made for a customer who had just gotten married, and requested a set of arrows for himself, and a matching set for his new father-in-law so they could shoot together.

The arrow shafts are all ash, 3/8" parallel and fitted with 2" long, 1.5mm slips of ox horn.

One set is fletched with white turkey and has a red spliced fletching laid in, and these are whipped to the shaft with red silk.  Half of them have hand forged Type 10 bodkins, and the other half have hand forged Type 16 barbed heads.

The second set, for the father-in-law, are fletched in white with a black splice laid in, and these are whipped with green silk.  They have hand forged Type 10 bodkins.

All the heads were hand forged by myself.  The customer also asked for a linen arrow bag to made for the arrows.

About 60g, give or take!  They're 30" long.

These arrows will shoot nicely out of very light warbows - 80 to 100lb or so.  The 3/8" parallel ash shafts are sort of the "go to" arrows for entry level military bows.

Thanks for the comments people!

Those are really nice. Do you forge your own points?

Rob I think he said he forged all the points himself as if the arrows weren't impressive enough. Once again Wow👍👍👍
