Hydrodipped My Gun Buck
« on: December 21, 2016, 10:11:19 pm »
I'd never tried it before.  Figured I'd give it a shot on this little buck from deer camp in northern Wisconsin, though I'm not even sure I'm a fan of dipping yet.  I'm fairly happy with it for a trial run.  I'll go with at least one lighter contrast color if I ever do it again.

That is pretty cool how that works. Wonder if you could do a bow back like that in a long skinny container?

Pretty cool indeed.

You can dip anything non-porous if you have a big enough tank. You'd have to seal it first. I wonder if the paint would hold up to the bending.

I have a buddy who put up a YouTube vid about that. It's pretty cool, but I'm not sure I'd do it to a lot of them if I wanted to display. Might be to much like being at a dead show. 😜 dp

My brother runs a company here in Montesano Wa. that specializes in this work. There are several companies out there, and they all seem to have varying quality. Seen some good, and down right horrible work. (opinion;)

Are you able to add another color layer to it now if you wanted, or is it a one shot deal?

I may have to do one of my paintball markers or airsoft guns like that.
