A productive day in the workshop
« on: October 12, 2016, 09:18:32 pm »
The Florida guys aren't the only ones enjoying the cool and breezy weather.  I had a very productive day in my workshop and enjoyed the fall breeze.  I'm taking a break from hunting and trying to get a lot of projects wrapped up and starting on some new ones before I hit the woods hard again.  I started by shaping the handle on this knife for my daughter.  Its all done except for some sanding.

I have 2 more knives that are almost done so I went ahead and got the scales ready for them.  This one is for me.  I used some osage burl that Stringman gave me.  I can't wait to see what they look like sanded smooth and a finish on them.

I got a USA made Nicholson wood rasp a while back and decided it needed some osage scales.  I got them made and epoxied them on.  With more than half the day gone I switched into bow making mode.  I am trying to get a handful of bows roughed out so I can put them in the house to finish drying.  I will finish these up over the winter hopefully.

The rasp scales glued on and my bow blanks cut out.

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Looking good, Clint. Our cool and breezy days come with a name, though. :)

We have had some beautiful weather lately. It was 34 degs this morning. Won't be long before first frost. Leaves are starting to turn colors.
You got a lot done Clint. Nice winter projects

You can keep those storms with names.  The last one that made it this far north did a lot of wind damage.

It hasn't got anywhere near that cold here Pat.  I think the lowest I've seen is mid 50's at night.

I need to put the chimney back up and it will be ready to go.  I'm going to wait a little while longer before doing that.
