Thanks, guys. I thought about salvaging the skins and sinew. I decided that I'm going to glue it back together and make a bow rack out of it.

Good idea, never though about repurposing it.....cool

That's a heartbreaker. Dont see them break like that very often.

Well, way to have a good attitude about it. Hope you like that yew.  :)

Yeah, I had a hard maple fail on me because of a knot in the handle last year. I've become completely intolerant of knots anywhere in my bows, as I detest investing all the effort making them only to hear that sickening **CRACKKKK**. And the junipers really explode when they go, so good thing you weren't close by and ended up with a sliver of wood jabbed in your eye.

That is a total bummer that she blew up,  but it is a true judge of character that you shared that with everybody .
You get my vote for producing a great ball bow,  and then sharing it's  demise .

Juniper sinew makes my favorite bow, but I know exactly what you mean when the bow gains weight, shoots faster than ever then blows up. I keep my bows in a climate control room and use almost all perfect knot free juniper.

That has got to be the most beautiful bow rack I have ever seen!!  ::) ;)
That is a lesson to me too cause I would have thought exactly what you did about the stiff handle and sinew.
Thanks again for keepin us updated and let us see that finished rack someday please. I just might have a "rack" layin around here too.

That is a incredible job!!!   Art in the form of a weapon, I think the cotton mouth snake skins are the best I have seen!   Cotton mouths are a lot more scarce and hard to find than people think here in the Carolinas! THANKS for showing your bow and by the way your photographs are excellant. I can see some very good details of what I want to try with my first bow that I did not understand before!

Bill, I hate it when they break at that stage of the game. Really hate to see that. Maybe save both limbs for a three piece take-down?

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?
