Set of 12 hunting points
« on: August 26, 2016, 12:18:15 pm »
Set of 12 matched points from various stones for a buyer. And a few extras in there for him. Antler and hammerstone percussion copper pressure. No slabs involved.

Ignorant question here. With the tips looking to me as a more blunt tip rather than pointy, how well will those fare in actually penetrating a deer?

Those points stand a much better chance of not breaking upon impact...and thus they should do some real damage.

Well, errr--- Would you volunteer for a penetration test? >:D
I think the camera and photo reproduction could give them a
not as pointy perspective but I can tell they are thin and look
great. Not to mention getting them so matched up. Amazing ;D

Maybe Bomo can tell us what the prey will be?

Thanks guys.

And no worries sleek. They penetrate great. Like others said the more pointy the more prone to end snap when hitting a bone. I'm not much of a hunter but a few years ago a friend that gun hunts let me take some shots at a deer he got. It was dressed of course but I was more interested in how they punched through the skin and what they did when they hit a bone. I copped a rib clean in two with one and the arrow about popped completely out the other side of the deer.

So when a point hits pone and breaks, is the shot ruined and the animal just wounded or goimg to take a long hike to track?

Thanks guys.

Mullet, yea that Berns Green, I buy some from a lady at Flint Ridge every time I go.

sleek, it depends. A lot of the time the break makes a new sharp edge and the arrow veers off and keeps moving.
