I think he is using one of those French measuring sticks, bubby
Harumph  ::)... I think you'll find the inch symbol "  is directly above the 2 on the keyboard, so it's 19"
I've put in about 1" of deflex and I'll curve those tips a bit more this afternoon.
Del

Maybe it's a French keyboard ? Mine has the @ sign above the 2.  ;D  ;)
The bow is looking good Del.

Del....Is'nt working with osage about like working rerod once in a while???Compared to other woods I mean.It rings like a tuning fork when you tap it....ha ha ha.A little harder on tools and sand paper but....I've got good faith your gonna make a good one.

She's nearly there  :)
I've added the deflex and improved the curve on the tips.
I haven't quite had the bottle to puller her to 70# yet, but it looks pretty much like it will be 70# at 24"... bump hat and safety glasses maybe?
The pic is about 65# @ 22" :)
I'm cleaning up, rounding corners, relieving the arrow pass just a whisker (no real shelf... maybe later as part of tuning once it's been shot).
Maybe get to shoot her at the weekend.

Del...Actually when I first started to work with osage a bow making friend gave me a saying about working with osage that has always stuck with me.Thinner is quicker..that being width wise I mean because of it's density. With certain designs that is.

This build a long is going quite well. Looking good Del. A bit heavy for my taste, though. Something I'd shoot about 5 minutes then be ready to go lay down a while.

Man, maybe I'm stronger than I think, I've seen a lot of folks say they get tired fast pulling more than 50lbs but I've literally shot my 65#@33" manchu bow all day long with no issues, and that's not to brag it's to say I find it surprising as I'm a big fat computer nerd, lol.

You've nearly got it whooped Del.  I'm curious to see the flight results you get out of it.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Yeah, it's for flight, so I'll only be shooting a few arrows from it.... then I'll have a bit of a walk to go fetch them ::)

Woo...
I took the string from my last flight bow and tried it at 10 yards.
I could hardly draw it at first 'cos the weight is so early ::), but then I got into it, like shooting a mini warbow. It bangs out my regular arrows (about 400gn)with a bit of tape round to mark the 24"... not that I was likely to overdraw it.
I was going to get my son to video me but he said " You've broken your arrow!"  :o
Just as well he spotted it, it was fractured at about 19", just right for skewering my hand  :o
I'll make up some arrows and give it a go tomorrow hopefully. Feels pretty quick.

I've cut in a small shelf and tried it with a 11/32" 390 gn arrow...
It buried it an impressive distance into the target and actually hit home straight and true.
Felt smoooother and sounded less like a car crash ;D
I think it would be very good for hunting dinosaurs ;)
