Otter Hide Quiver and Bowcase
« on: April 18, 2016, 11:27:14 pm »
Got my new otter quiver and bowcase wrapped up last week. Groups of ermine strips attached along the sling. The exposed hide I colored with yellow pigment paint mixed with hide glue. I attached silver hair disks down the flap hanging below the quiver. Hand painted eagle feather, beadwork and ribbon hang from the tip of the flap.  I beaded and attached the feet that I cut off from the hide used for the quiver and attached to the sling.  Hand painted eagle feather with ribbon attached to the bottom of the bowcase.

Peatreg, as you already know Otter fur is some of the softest fur of all the water animals, beautiful looking quiver and I like how you used every bit of it even the feet, The fur marketis in the tank so should be able to aquire some nice fur reasonably, I sent everything I had to the tannery rather than totally give it away at the auction, Bob

Man, that is beautifull. Lot's of otters on the move down here with plenty of road kill. After skinning and degreasing two I'm done with the stinky boogers.

What a bunch of bling!  Congrats!!

Wow! What a beautiful quiver and a great show of craftsmanship.

I have a 53in otter I am hoping to turn into something very similar. Maybe not with all the bring though.

Very nice. Outback is right if any of you guys want fur it's pitifully cheap right now. Not sure what you can buy it for but raw fur put up offers are an insult.
