Is Ocean Spray always high spined?
« on: April 10, 2016, 12:13:01 am »
So I'm making 7 arrows to add to my 3 already finished and made a spine tester tonight to check em all... How in the heck are they so high spined?! One is a little under 5/16" at the nock and a tad bit over 3/8" at the point but spines at 63 pounds! All except 2 are in 55-65 pounds. The other 2 are 71 and 93. Kept em all at 29.5" but I'm not sure that's enough for my 52@27 bow.
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short. Amen.

Send me some for my 60-70# bow :p

...or maybe you could make them taper towards the nock end more..?

In my limited experience with Ocean spray for bows I found it to be very stiff for how small it is.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

I already sealed em too. Well loon if they fly too stiff then they're yours. Hoping my bow is center shot enough to shoot em well though, turkey season is next week!

You can adjust the effective spine of these shafts by adding length and/or tip weight to these. You won't necessarily have a matched set of arrows but you can have a set of arrows that shoot well from your bow.

I'm putting nocks in tonight, hopefully they'll be shooting by tomorrow! Guess that will be the real test.
