63" ntn, 48# at 28" bison-sinew backed black locust
light and fast
handle wrap is of braided kangaroo leather lacing
when i'm working on things my ancestors worked, singing the songs my ancestors sang, dancing the same dances, speaking the same language, only then  I feel connected to the land, THIS land, where my ancestors walked for thousands of years...

Fine looking bow Richard. Are the tips the natural black locust? Love the way they blend together.
Can I ask what the bow weighs? I'm working on a similar design using black walnut/ deer sinew and with 3 light layers of sinew I'm just over 15 oz. and hope to come in with similar specs.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

That looks like it would be a pleasure to shoot.  (Your dog thinks it would be a pleasure to chew on the sinew!)  The belly looks a bit heat-treated - am I seeing that right?

thanks for the comments,
tips were steam bent but belly wasn't heat treated, its just the pattern of the grain. It was made from a large blk loc limb that fell in a windstorm.
yes the handle I braided using kangaroo leather lacing. I have a tutorial in here somewhere but this one turned out better than the tutorials finish product.

yeah, the tips are just its natural grain no laminating....on the gram scale the bows at 558.6 grams ....about 19.6 oz.
