Thanks, Gut! I like it, too.

I'll be posting some pics as soon as I'm done with some errands for tillering advice.

Trying to finish up bow #3. I'm thinking some more scraping inner 1/3 of the left and outer 1/3 of the right. What's your opinion. I've got 10#'s to play with. Sorry for the focus.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

The center 12-14" on the right is dead flat. Left could move more about 10" from the tips.

somebody has a tube on their front porch - I hope that somebody likes what's in it.

In addition to what Pearlie said, it looks like the right limb is bending more out of the fades than the left, but the large flat spot on the right limb is what I'd go after first.

Got the limbs balanced, just found a post from Del in a  thread on English warbows about using a ring to shorten a long string while tillering (http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,57658.0.html) - looks perfect for my D-bow - will have to drill out a ring when I make the stringer; should make life a lot more straightforward.  :)

Here's where it sits at 9 inches (top pic is resting for reference purposes... no wood has been removed yet).  The left limb (the lower limb) isn't bending the same as the right.  When I draw the bow, it looks like the right limb is "opening" more at midlimb (if that makes sense).  If I were to guess, this would mean the left limb is stiffer at the outer limb.  Input is welcome.  ;)

Update I have put on four coats of finish on my Trade bow, I'm using Tru oil ... After my third coat I wrote on the limb the name of my victim and specs then put on a fourth coat... I'll lightly steel wool out any runs ...how many coats do I need to put on ? Input

ty...those bows always look weird at brace to me.  The limbs are essentially straight at brace height and it just doesn't look right to me....to angular.  But when drawn they come around nicely.
