Very nice bow trucker!

I seen Paulys pappy bow in person. Its sexy as heck, quiet, short and fast. Pauly shoots it well, that is really what matters.

I took my trade bow to Marshall and passed it around for the masses to shoot and shot the course with it. Performed pretty well and got the nod from the people that shot it. Gotta write a name on it a few more coats of finish and should have it in the mail within two weeks

Finally got my tips spliced in and backing strip reduced and recurved to fit. I'm going to sinew back the hickory strip and then apply it.







 This was plan B but it's going to be too heavy I think.

Why are you sinewing the backing first?

   Because it has been my experience that the lateral shrinking of a sinew backed tri-lam will pull the two pieces of wood apart.
  I doubt it would be a problem with a more flexible and wider belly wood but Ipe doesn't move that way.
  By backing first the wood can curl the edges  and then be re-flattened.

In this case I'm counting the sinew as the third layer rather than the typical tri-lam reference to three wooden pieces.

   The northern Eurasian bows were said to be wood backed wood with an additional layer of sinew in some cases.

   I know a guy on Paleoplanet made a similar bow with Ipe, Elm and sinew.
