My new shooting bag of bark tanned deer. Still drying from a dye bath. The small one for flints the larger for tools.
Hand sewn with waxed linen thread.
The strap is adjustable with antler buttons. Has a pan brush and vent pick too.

Thanks guys. It is going to work out good. You can wear it on either side because of the way I madeit.
Call it my Ozark bag, Going to go with my iron mounted .54 caliber flinter.

By iron mount you mean the furniture on it?the sights?I shoot a 54 cal.Johnathon Browning Hawken but it's a capper.It's my big game rifle.....lol.

It has hand forged furniture. Open iron sights too. It's a copy of a Joseph Bogel gun from the 1790s.
A good Southern rifle. Curly maple stock. I burnished the wood with a deer leg bone,

Yea curly maple is niiiice.Mines got a few dings,scratches,etc.Used it a lot.Bought it in 1980.

Spotted dog....Did you use the quebraco bark tan powder?I've done it both ways.Quebraco and oak bark.The oak bark tannin extraction is a bit more work and time but the same results happen.

I did not tan the hide. I wish I could tell you I did. A man in Texas tans 2-300 at a time for a man I know.
