I had a friend Kim Brooks,, he made amazing arrows,,
he is no longer with us,, I wanted some arrows like his,, so I tried to make some as you see in the photo
using his motif,, I had the thin belly cut of osage ,,, I am thinking barely enough to make a bow,, well it made a bow so I decided to paint the belly like the arrows,,

the stave had some rough issues, checking and such, from being the bottom of the stave,, I couldnt rasp past them so I decided to rawhide back with calf skin,, I had pretty good growth ring,, but the edges were compromised in some of the stave,,

Ain't it shocking how little 'sage you need to make a decent bow???

Wild stuff you got going on there.  Nice tribute to a friend!

one limb had some deflex and one had reflex roller coaster,, got it to bend as even as I could and had to follow my own advice,, it shot well,, so even though the tiller was not so positive at brace,, I went with the bow like it was,, and put the art work on,, I was committed at that point,,, no touching up from that point on,, the full draw is before the art was applied,, I had the camera on a chair on self timer and didnt quite get to 25 ,,,, looks like 24 1/2

That's some kinda good-looking artwork. Hope it's not copyrighted!   8)

I like this little coloured bows.
At the first view, they look like children bows and than you discover the power ;D
