ugly little buck
« on: November 17, 2015, 01:14:03 am »
A friend of mine took this ugly old buck about ten miles from my house.  I sure wish that deer would of strayed a little to the west.  I don't usually hunt for horns, but I believe I would have made an exception in this case. Lol!  Josh

He's a wild looking character. Was he ever spotted on the hoof around the area and known about before your friend took him?

I was thinking the same thing!  Lol!  He's been after this old buck for 3 yrs.  I know he's passed on several dandy bucks while holding out for this one and has ended up with tag soup for a couple yrs.  I reckon his patience and perseverance paid off in the end.  This buck was 320 # on the hoof (live weight) and the green score is 205 7/8.   Josh

Wonder what happened to his blood pressure when this ol' fart wandered into range and it became obvious this was THAT DEFINING MOMENT?

I really can't imagine it.  I can say if it were me in that scenario, I would've probably vapor locked before I hit full draw and fell out of the tree!   I had an old doe that was a multi-season adversary that would get me red lining when she got within 50 yds(long story).  A gnarly ol buck like this would likely be the end of me!  Josh
