Info on wrapped limb nocks?
« on: October 19, 2015, 12:14:21 pm »
I dont even know what to call them?! But I think they would help solve a problem for me. I got my limb tips very thin trying to chase them to one side to center the string to the handle. So I think they might be my only option.

Can any of you guys fill me in on how they are made, out of what, pictures, and all that generally helpful info?

Thank you!

One way of doing it is to simply wrap sinew or string material around the limb tip about an inch or two from the tip.  Wrap a good number of times, so that you end up with quite a bulky amount.

Soak in superglue or hide glue to secure it, and when bracing the bow the string goes on from the outside, instead of sliding up the bow limb.  Just lift it over the limb tip, and then drop the loop onto the wrapped sinew.

This works at least up to 100lb, so would be fine for any hunting weight/target weight bows.

Post pics of the tips with something to reference their size.
