That vine maple bow is killer NP. Just viewed through this entire post, excellent information on your bow building techniques.
A lot of good info on your methods and much can be learned from your photos and descriptions of the hows and whys you do things. Nice post all around, glad your putting it up for all of us bowyering junkies. :)
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Thanks Brother  ;D

It's quite a bit of work taking the pictures and post this often but I myself go back and check all the progress, it'skinda cool.

I'm relearning all kinds of stuff that I sota forgot in this years when I was idle in the craft.

It's great to see you back at building those fine bows Manny. I'll always remember the day you gave this thirsty hoale water, and then ran a pig by him only to watch him miss it clean. Steve

Things are great here Manny. I hope all is well with you.  That guava Stave you sent me turned into a really nice bow that I still have. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks,

I got it down to the ring above the target Back ring

Also I fine tuned the lay out too ( final is once I get to the back ring )

did some handle and belly work too

now I'm taking the last ring off, ferrier rasp 1st than when I get close I go to the scraper ( I'm nowhere near as intimidated as I was in chasing rings on Osage  ;D ;D ;D ;D )

Working Osage is pretty addicting  ;D ....I definitely neglected my other bows  ::) ::)

Hey Manny, thimosabv here. This is awesome. I've been back on the other bow forum site  and feel like I'd entered a ghost town. Drinking my morning coffee getting ready to head out to the workshop and reading this is just what the bow-doctor ordered. Love your style.

Did some scraping yesterday to get rid of that last ring,....boooriing  ::) ::) ::)  ;D ;D

But today I spent time with my Guava bow.

I took it real slow with this bow because I didn't want to mess it up, ......and it came out really good  ;D

brought it to full draw and finished shooting it in, Equal limbs and Equal tiller, it came out at the perfect weight 60# @ 27"

Didn't take much set either

that kink in the lower limb has always been there, it's a bit reflexed out the fade and than it has that little kink.

Now I have to decide what backing,.....Snake skins or Rawhide ?

NP. I am just amazed at how you work the stave without clamping that thing while hogging off wood. Just amazing!
